Description
- Relief of mild to moderate pain inlcuding headache, dental and body pain, traumatic and surgical pain, dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps), and menorrhagia (heavy or prolonged menstrual periods).
- Symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation due to musculoskeletal and joint disorders including arthritis.
Available as film-coated tablet.

Classification
Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
Dosage
Adults & children above 12 yrs. old:
Take 1-2 tablets 3 times daily after meals. Do not take for more than 7 days, unless advised by the doctor.
Precautions
May cause allergic reaction including hives, shock, skin reddening, asthma, skin rash and skin blisters. Discontinue use and consult the doctor immediately if allergic reaction occurs. May also cause stomach bleeding, especially in high-risk patients. May increase risk of heart attack or stroke in excessive or prolonged drug intake. Caution use in elderly patients suffering from dehydration and kidney disease.
Side Effects
Prolonged or excessive intake of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may increase risk of stomach irritation, bleeding, and other side effects. May cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and other gastrointestinal discomforts. Occasionally, drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, anxiety, visual disturbance, and kidney damage or disease. Rarely, skin reactions such as rash and itching.
Contraindications
Do not give to patients who:
-are allergic to mefenamic acid, aspirin, and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or pain relievers
-had experienced diarrhea due to mefenamic acid
-have existing or history of peptic ulcer
-have inflammation or ulceration of the lining of stomach or bowel
-have kidney disease, severe heart and liver failure
-will undergo heart surgery (coronary artery bypass)
-are pregnant or breastfeeding.
